The Rues principales Foundation established a quality label that confirms and attests to the excellence of the work conducted in socio-economic revitalization and in searching for innovative and creative solutions with which to confront the challenges of sustainable development and socio-economic revitalization.
The Rues principales Foundation also established a network of "towns of excellence" as a forum for discussion and linkage among the members.
As the Société d'habitation du Québecwishes to contribute to the constant improvement in the living and built environment of Québeckers, it developed a partnership with the Rues principales Foundation in the context of its 4-Aces certification.
A "4-Aces certified" municipality is one that:
- promotes and supports a process that involves different local interest groups
- establishes and maintains an efficient cooperative setting, a vision of the future and action strategies aimed at all revitalization and development concerns
- returns to the town centre its dynamic socio-economic role and power of attraction that capitalizes on history, heritage and culture
- promotes a multidisciplinary approach and an active partnership that brings together all public and private actors
