Two financial partners helped create an endowment fund in 1997, in association with the Heritage Canada Foundation, enabling the Rues principales Foundation to confirm its mission, carry out its activities and establish close working relations with the municipalities.
Canada Economic Development, a government agency, recognizes the pertinence of the Rues principales Foundation's mission and its goals to promote regional economic development and the creation of long-term employment.
The Government of Québec, through the Société d’habitation du Québec (Ministère des Affaires municipales, des Régions et de l'Occupation du territoire), the Ministère de la Culture, des Communications et de la Condition fémininie and the Ministère de l’Éducation du Loisir et du Sport, acknowledges the value of the professional assistance that the Rues principales Foundation provides to municipalities to improve the quality of their built environment, to more effectively preserve community heritage and to create an awareness at the stakeholder level of its innovative approach and on the importance of good revitalization and sustainable development practices.
The Heritage Canada Foundation supported the work of the Rues principales Foundation from 1997 to 2011 with the objective of conserving the heritage of Québec and making this valuable heritage better known and promoting its enhancement.
PARTNERS IN COLLABORATION
A number of partners that recognize how important the work of the Rues principales Foundation is to the sustainable development of Québec municipalities and municipalities in other provinces help support the Foundation's mission.
PARTNER IN TRAINING

Since the inception of the Foundation, Université Laval has recognized the quality and pertinence of the work carried out and has indicated its desire to become associated with it. Universté Laval has offered to the Rues principales Foundation to develop an on-going training program accessible to everyone.
