In order to measure the progress made by each municipality in its revitalization and sustainable development strategy, and how it was made, the Rues principales Foundation prepares summaries of the work done in each area.

These summaries testify to the scope of the Rues principales strategy in all the components of local development.

Nicolet – Nicolet - Socio-economic revitalization summary

Population : 7 791 inhabitants

In an effort to counter a declining population, the closing of a number of businesses and the increasing lackluster image of the downtown area, in 2002, Nicolet launched a revitalization strategy with the support of the Rues principales Foundation. The restoration and preservation of the built environment, the development of public places, the creation of a new synergy within the local business community and the promotion of the downtown's welcoming, attractive image are a few of the initiatives that will again enable downtown Nicolet to set itself apart.
